QPR have concluded the deal of Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy on a four-year deal for an secretive fee.
McCarthy, 24, has found himself secondary to Adam Federici at the Madejski Stadium and will contend for a place with Rob Green and Brian Murphy.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp said: “He’s a great young goalkeeper with a great future in front of him.
“I think he’s got the potential to be a future England goalkeeper one day, so to have him here at QPR is fantastic.”
McCarthy won three caps for the England Under-21 side and was complimented to join full squad for friendlies against Brazil and the Republic of Ireland in 2013.
