Blind, said: “Everything has happened so quickly in the last 24 hours. It’s a very exciting time and I am going over to England for the final details.
“I have had contact with Louis van Gaal in the last few days about the role I am going to play at United but the conversations which took place stay between him and me.
“I can’t speak about that now. I just want to be part of the team, whatever role that is going to be, in defence or midfield.”
Blind’s agent Rob Jansen said: “It took a long time to get the deal done. Louis has a lot of trust in Daley and that makes a big difference to the player and getting the deal completed.”

But Van Gaal said: “The results will come. Two points from nine is not good and this was another disappointing result, but we have to keep on believing.
“We created a lot of chances, especially in the second half, but you have to score those chances.
Di Maria’s performance was not the world-class player we have seen in Madrid, but you can expect that.
He is trying to understand a new culture and way of playing and the players are also getting used to him. It takes time, I think.”
